I am a recently retired (2023) holistic MD after nearly 40 years of practice in a combination of military and VA medical and psychiatric care for 15 years, followed by a 25 year private practice providing various holistic therapies.
My passion is in working with folks and helping them find their way to wholeness and well-being. Since retirement I have pursued new modalities. Primarily, I studied reflexology and became certified through Claire Guy’s SoleWise School of Reflexology in Winthrop Maine.
I also have received certification in Spiritual Counseling through The American Institute of Health Care Professionals, Inc. and certification in the Science of Happiness through the Positive Psychology Program at UC Berkeley.
My years of practice in holistic medicine allowed me training and experience in herbal and nutritional therapies, mind/body therapies, and lifestyle counseling among many other more medically based therapies. I will continue to offer much of what I did in the holistic health realm. Medical care will no longer be part of my offering.
I am very excited to begin this new chapter in my work with you and especially to be providing reflexology as a way to support the body’s movement toward relaxation and wellbeing.
When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It's simple,” they say,
"and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy,
to be filled with light, and to shine.”
